At IST 1947, every timepiece is made to exacting standards of quality and precision. All watches purchased through our official website are covered by a two-year warranty against manufacturing and mechanical defects under normal use.
Warranty Period
All IST 1947 watches come with a two-year warranty from the date of purchase.
Warranty Coverage
This warranty covers:
- Manufacturing defects.
- Mechanical defects under normal use.
- Movement-related issues arising from manufacturing defects.
- For quartz watches, if the battery is depleted or the watch stops functioning due to battery-related issues during the warranty period.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear.
- Scratches, dents, or cosmetic damage caused by regular use.
- Damage resulting from accidental drops, impacts, or rough handling.
- Water damage caused by improper use or exceeding the stated water resistance.
- Damage caused by exposure to chemicals, solvents, perfumes, or corrosive substances.
- Damage caused by unauthorized repairs, modifications, or servicing.
- Strap wear, discoloration of coating, fading of luminous material, or deterioration due to regular usage.
- Crystal, crown, case, or bracelet damage caused by misuse.
- Damage caused by strong magnetic fields, extreme temperatures, or improper storage.
Warranty Claim Process
To initiate a warranty claim:
- Email us at aftersales@ist1947.com with your order details, clear photos of the front and the back of the watch, a copy of the warranty card, and a description of the issue.
Please note: Your digital warranty, along with a unique QR code, will be sent to your registered email at the time of dispatch. Your warranty is automatically activated and linked to your physical warranty card, so no further registration is required.
When submitting a warranty claim via email, please include copies of either your physical or digital warranty along with your order details and a description of the issue. - Include clear photos or videos showing the defect.
- Once your claim is reviewed and approved, we will arrange a pickup from your registered delivery address. This is only applicable for customers within India.
For international customers to claim their warranty, they will need to have the watch delivered to us in India and collected within India. - The watch will undergo inspection by our service team.
- If the issue is covered under warranty, the watch will be repaired or replaced at no additional cost. If the issue is found to be outside the scope of warranty coverage, our team will contact you within 5–7 business days with the available repair options and a cost estimate before proceeding.
Additional Notes
Automatic Movement Accuracy
Automatic mechanical watches may naturally gain or lose a few seconds each day. This is a normal characteristic of mechanical movements and should not be considered a defect.
For watches powered by the Miyota 82S7 movement (Vijay Collection), the manufacturer's specified accuracy is +40 / -20 seconds per day.
For the most accurate performance, evaluate the watch after it has been fully wound.
Quartz Movement Accuracy
Quartz watches may naturally gain or lose a few seconds each month. This is a normal characteristic of quartz movements and should not be considered a manufacturing defect.
The acceptable accuracy varies depending on the movement used. For the Miyota 1L45 movement (Arka Collection) and Miyota 2115 movement (Vanya Collection), the manufacturer's specified accuracy is approximately ±20 seconds per month.
Quartz Battery Support
If your quartz watch stops working or you suspect the battery has been depleted, please contact us at aftersales@ist1947.com with your order details and a brief description of the issue.
Our after-sales team will assist you with the diagnosis, guide you through the service process, and, if required, arrange a pickup from your registered address for battery replacement or further inspection.
Lume Performance
Luminous hands and indices perform best after prolonged exposure to a strong natural or artificial light source. The intensity and duration of the glow will gradually diminish over time in darkness.
Watch Care Guidelines
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your IST 1947 timepiece:
- Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields.
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures or sudden temperature changes.
- Protect the watch from severe impacts or shocks.
- Store the watch in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Clean the watch periodically using a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
- Have your watch professionally serviced every 3–5 years for optimal performance.
- Always ensure the crown is fully secured before exposure to water.
